Region Dalarna accepts 275000 kronor sanction fee

Region Dalarna accepts a sanction fee of about 275000 kronor after the Work Environment Authority reviewed overtime among doctors. At the same time the region appeals a threatened fine of one million kronor.

Following the review the Work Environment Authority established that extra overtime and general overtime together exceeded 50 hours per month for some doctors in the region. This breaches the Working Hours Act.

Chief legal officer Magnus Höög confirmed that the region accepts responsibility for the violations. He said the fee is therefore accepted.

The region chooses to appeal the threat of the higher fine but accepts the lower sanction fee for the same cause.
