Muungano wa kimataifa uzindua mfumo mpya wa ufadhili wa elimu

Global ISA Alliance imeanzisha mfumo wa Income Share Agreements ili kuwasaidia vijana wengi kupata elimu ya juu nchini Kenya bila mzigo wa mikopo ya kawaida.

Mfumo huo unaruhusu wanafunzi kuanza kulipa sehemu ndogo ya mapato yao baada ya kupata ajira. Hakuna malipo yanayofanywa ikiwa mhitimu hajapata kazi wala hakuna riba inayotozwa.

Mkurugenzi Mkuu wa Chancen Kenya Gladys Mutisya alisema mfumo huo utawaondolea vijana wenye vipaji vikwazo vya gharama za masomo. Zaidi ya vijana 10,000 nchini Kenya Rwanda Ghana na Afrika Kusini wamefadhiliwa kupitia mfumo huo.

Takriban asilimia 73 ya wahitimu hupata ajira ndani ya mwaka mmoja baada ya kumaliza masomo yao. Hatua hii inakuja wakati Kenya ikikabiliwa na changamoto ya wahitimu wengi wanaoingia sokoni kila mwaka.
