The first arrest occurred two days earlier at Hong Kong International Airport. Officers found 3.1kg (6.8lbs) of suspected ketamine concealed inside food packaging in the baggage of a 43-year-old man who arrived from Bangkok.

In the second case, officers intercepted a 41-year-old man during an anti-narcotics operation in Yau Ma Tei on Thursday. They escorted him to a nearby hotel room, where a search uncovered about 1.7kg of suspected cocaine, around 1.7kg of suspected “Ice” or methamphetamine, as well as “drug inhaling apparatus and a batch of drug packaging paraphernalia,” customs said. The man was subsequently arrested.
