Polda Metro Jaya has foiled the distribution of ecstasy and methamphetamine at an apartment in Penjaringan, North Jakarta. Two suspects were detained along with 1,000 ecstasy pills and 115 grams of shabu as evidence.
The raid was carried out by AKBP Tiyatno Pamungkas of the Polda Metro Jaya narcotics unit. The two suspects, identified only by the initials T and F, have been named as suspects in the case.
Ahmad Sahroni, Vice Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives, praised the police work. He said the seizure saved dozens to hundreds of lives from the dangers of drugs.
Sahroni called on the police and the National Narcotics Agency to keep working together to eradicate drug dealers. He noted that North Jakarta remains vulnerable to drug trafficking and requires extra attention from authorities.
