Interpol and SAPS arrest Zimbabwean triple murder suspect

Interpol and the South African Police Service arrested a 45-year-old Zimbabwean man in Johannesburg on Friday evening. Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma is wanted in connection with the murders of his wife and two daughters in the United Kingdom.

The arrest took place in Kensington after a red notice was issued the previous day. Authorities say Tshuma fled the UK following the deaths of his wife, 42-year-old Nothabo Zandile Tshuma, and their daughters, 15-year-old Natalie and five-year-old Nala. Their bodies were found at a house near Bedford on Monday.

National police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe stated that the multi-disciplinary team tracked the suspect within hours. She added: "The swift arrest demonstrates the capability, the professionalism, as well as the operational excellence of the South African Police Service and the strength of our cooperation with international law enforcement agencies."

Mathe warned that South Africa would not serve as a hideout for fugitives. The operation involved coordinated efforts between Interpol and SAPS.
