A man was seriously injured during an altercation on Eisenbahnstraße in Leipzig on Sunday evening. Police questioned witnesses and blocked several streets.
A police spokesperson confirmed the victim was attacked with a dangerous object and taken to hospital. No arrests have been made so far. At the same time another police operation took place on the street. Several blocks were cordoned off and SEK forces were involved. It remained unclear whether it was a raid. Eisenbahnstraße has been known as a crime hotspot for years. Since mid-2025 a permanent police post has been stationed there.
