Kaunti ya Mombasa inatangaza mfumo wa utambuzi wa namba za gari na uso ili kufuatilia wahalifu

Gavana wa Mombasa Abdulswamad Nassir ametangaza uzinduzi wa kamera za CCTV mahiri ili kuimarisha sheria za maegesho na nyinginezo za kaunti. Mfumo huu, uliofadhiliwa na rasilimali za kaunti, utawatambua wahalifu wakati halali na kufuatilia ukiukaji unaorudiwa.

Serikali ya Kaunti ya Mombasa imezindua mfumo mpya wa uchunguzi wa kidijitali ili kuimarisha sheria za maegesho na kufuata sheria za kaunti. Gavana Abdulswamad Nassir aliongea katika Mkutano wa Wawekezaji wa Usalama wa Barabara wa Kikanda 2026 na kusema kuwa kamera za CCTV mahiri zimeshawekwa katika sehemu kadhaa za mji, na awamu ya kwanza inakaribia kukamilika.

"Serikali ya kaunti iliwekeza na kuweka CCTV mahiri kote Mombasa kwa kutumia rasilimali zetu wenyewe. Hivi sasa, tumeweka tayari, na tuko katika mchakato wa kumaliza," alisema.

Kamera hizi zitawasaidia kuwakamata wasio lipa ada za maegesho na wanaokiuka sheria nyingine. Nassir aliongeza kuwa kaunti inatafuta kushirikiana na wadau ili kuimarisha uwezo wa mfumo, ikijumuisha utambuzi wa namba za gari na uso. Mfumo utafuatilia mifumo ya tabia ya wahalifu na kujenga wasifu wao.

Gavana alisisitiza ulinzi wa data ni sehemu muhimu, na kuzahidi kuwa mazingira ya faragha yamejumuishwa. Kaunti itashirikiana na National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) ili kufanikisha programu hii, ikifanana na mfumo wa faini za haraka wa NTSA.
