Over a thousand people join first Actinver Circuit against cancer

Over a thousand people gathered at the Hipódromo de las Américas on February 15 for the first edition of the Actinver Circuit, an initiative by Corporación Actinver promoting early detection of colorectal and pancreatic cancer through sports and social activities.

The first edition of the Actinver Circuit, organized by Corporación Actinver, drew over a thousand participants on February 15 at the Hipódromo de las Américas. The event featured 5 and 10 kilometer routes, children's activities, and physical activation sessions, exceeding expectations and highlighting social commitment.

Luis Hernández Rangel, CEO of Corporación Actinver, stated in an interview: “It motivates to see young people, children, and especially so many women competing with discipline and enthusiasm. Years ago, female participation was lower; today it is protagonist.” Hernández Rangel, who led the race after losing his wife to cancer a year ago, stressed healthy habits: “If we manage to raise awareness and motivate people to move, even half an hour a day, we are already advancing”.

Fernanda Pastrana, director of the VAPORTI Against Pancreatic Cancer program at Fundación Grisi, highlighted the need to raise awareness about the disease, which is often detected at advanced stages. Francisco Freyría, general director of the Fundación Fomento de Desarrollo Teresa de Jesús (FUTEJE), praised the growing recognition of civil organizations and the broad citizen participation.

All funds raised will go to FUTEJE and VAPORTI for awareness campaigns, diagnostic tests, treatments, and support for patients and families. The event ended with an awards ceremony, establishing the Actinver Circuit as an annual platform for prevention and physical activity.
