Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, addressed the issue during his sermon. He stated that sports betting offers no path to financial success.
“Young people, Naija Bet is not the way to financial fortune. Stop wasting your destiny, stop wasting your time. I have never been once deceived. Stop!” Oyedepo said.
He added that genuine progress may arrive slowly but remains certain for those who stay committed. Oyedepo also shared a personal story of giving a car to the woman who introduced him to Christ decades earlier.
The remarks come as concerns rise over the popularity of sports betting among young Nigerians.
