Three young people have been charged in connection with the murder of a 21-year-old man in Laxå in August last year. According to the indictment, the victim was lured to a location where he was stabbed to death by a 19-year-old, while two women helped cover up the crime. All deny the charges.
The murder took place on August 16 last year in Laxå, a small town in Örebro County. According to prosecutor Henrik Lundh, the conflict arose over a pair of pants that escalated during the night. "It seems to have been a trivial matter that triggered it, but we don't know if there's more behind it given the strong reaction," Lundh says.
Two young women arranged to meet the victim and accompanied him to a location where the 19-year-old man attacked him with a knife. The victim died at the scene. The women are charged with aiding murder, including helping the perpetrator flee and cleaning away evidence.
The trio was charged on Monday at Örebro District Court. They knew each other from before, and the conflict is described as violent among acquaintances. The incident has drawn attention in the small community, but the prosecution emphasizes that the investigation points to a specific background without larger organized ties.
All suspects deny the charges. The trial is expected to provide more clarity on the motive and details of the tragic event.
