Turnstile energizes Lollapalooza with hardcore performance

American band Turnstile delivered an intense hardcore set on the final day of Lollapalooza Brasil at Autódromo de Interlagos in São Paulo. The crowd responded with mosh pits and flares, despite sound issues. Vocalist Brendan Yates dedicated 'Blackout' to fans.

On Sunday night (21), the final day of Lollapalooza Brasil at Autódromo de Interlagos in São Paulo, Baltimore's Turnstile took the Budweiser stage at 7pm, ahead of Tyler the Creator and Lorde. The quintet opened with 'Never Enough' and focused their setlist on albums 'Glow On' (2021) and 'Never Enough', the latter winning Grammys for best rock album and best metal performance with 'Birds' (2026). The only exception was 'Real Thing' from 'Time & Space' (2018). Highlights included 'I Care', 'TLC', 'Seein’ Stars', 'Don’t Play', 'Mystery', 'Blackout', and 'Birds' in the final sequence. Vocalist Brendan Yates shouted in 'Blackout': “And if this makes you feel alive, then I'm happy to provide it”. The young crowd packed the area, lighting flares, forming mosh pits, and throwing beers in the air. Comprising Pat McCrory and Meg Mills (guitars), Daniel Fang (drums), and Franz Lyons (bass), the band delivered groovy hardcore with pop, electronic elements, and confessional lyrics. Despite the energy, sound quality faltered for those far from the speakers. This marked the band's return to Brazil after four years, since a Cine Joia gig and previous Lolla with smaller attendance.

The second day of Virada Cultural 2026 on Sunday (24/5) drew large crowds to various stages in the São Paulo capital, with performances by Marina Sena, Seu Jorge and Thiaguinho marked by delays and rain.

Turnstile took the Coachella stage for a high-energy performance, introduced by a pre-taped message from singer Brendan Yates' father, Bill Yates. The set came a week after Yates' father underwent emergency surgery following an alleged attack by the band's former guitarist, Brady Ebert. Blood Orange joined the band for a collaboration during the show.

Turnstile has revealed a 16-date North American tour this fall in support of its Grammy-winning album Never Enough. Each show will feature a different lineup of opening acts.

IDLES have begun their summer tour dates by opening each show with a new track called Levitator. The Bristol band first performed the song in Mexico in late May and have continued to play it at festivals across Europe.
