Max Verstappen described Red Bull's RB22 as undriveable during qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix after an aerodynamic problem caused the car to lose balance and spin at the final corner.
Verstappen will start Sunday's race from fourth on the grid after gaining two positions due to penalties for Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Antonelli. His teammate Isack Hadjar is set to line up eighth.
The four-time world champion said the car developed increasing oversteer throughout the session. He told the team over the radio that the car was completely broken aerodynamically and called the weekend a joke.
Verstappen noted that Red Bull faces a different issue each weekend. He said the team saw the aerodynamic deterioration in the data but could not fix it before qualifying ended.
When asked if the repeated problems left him desperate, Verstappen replied that the word no longer exists for him. He added that the team would simply try again on race day.
