Former NFL player Von Miller has claimed that quarterback Aaron Rodgers cared more about preventing a sack from Myles Garrett than securing a victory for the Pittsburgh Steelers in their 2025 Week 17 matchup against the Cleveland Browns.
Miller made the comments on Steve Smith Sr.’s YouTube channel. He stated that the NFL often works to limit top opposing players and pointed to the Steelers game late in the 2025 season.
In the remarks, Miller said Rodgers “just needed one sack, and Aaron Rodgers was doing everything he could. He didn’t even care about winning the game; he just cared that Myles didn’t get the sack on him.” Garrett entered the contest with 22 sacks and needed one more to break the NFL single-season record.
The Steelers lost that game to a Browns team that stood at 3-12 entering the matchup. Pittsburgh had a chance to clinch the division title with a win. Miller is not the first to raise questions about the team’s focus on Garrett during the contest.
