Warner Bros. Animation unveils slate and growth at Annecy

Warner Bros. Pictures Animation President Bill Damaschke presented updates on the studio's expanding theatrical animation division at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on Monday.

Damaschke highlighted the studio's growth from roughly 30 people three years ago to more than 250 artists and filmmakers in Burbank, with a global creative community exceeding 1,200. He described a vision for a filmmaker-driven studio without a house style, connected by heart, humor and hope.

The presentation included the world premiere of the Looney Tunes short Daffy Season. It also offered previews of seven upcoming features, starting with The Cat in the Hat, scheduled for release in November.

Other titles detailed were Bad Fairies, set for May 21, 2027, with new voice cast members including Serrana Su-Ling Bliss; Oh, The Places You’ll Go!; The Lunar Chronicle; Dynamic Duo; Margie Claus; and the newly announced Prehistoria in partnership with Vivienne Medrano.

Damaschke emphasized honoring classic Warner Bros. animators while building new stories and characters for future audiences.
