ZF plans to end Zeppelin allowance at Friedrichshafen site

The board of auto supplier ZF terminated the extra-tariff Zeppelin allowance for staff in Friedrichshafen. About 7500 employees could lose roughly ten percent of gross income from mid-2027. Talks failed on Monday.

The board of the second-largest German auto supplier intends to cancel the allowance named after company founder Ferdinand Graf von Zeppelin. The agreement was terminated effective mid-2027.

Commercial vehicles chief Andreas Moser and HR head Lea Corzilius led the talks with employee representatives. The discussions ended Monday without result.

Employee anger erupted during the works meeting in Friedrichshafen on Tuesday. Staff voiced strong discontent over the planned cost-cutting measures.
