Amhara officials stress sustained development efforts during rainy season

Officials in Ethiopia's Amhara region have called for intensified focus on development, governance and technology initiatives during the rainy season.

In Addis Ababa on June 26, 2018 Ethiopian calendar, Amhara region urban cluster coordinator Ahmed Mohamed (Dr.) said continuous work on development, good governance and initiatives is needed after the national election to deliver results and services to the public.

Region labor and skills bureau head Sebuh Gebeyehu (Dr.) stated that 1.1 million jobs are planned for the 2019 budget year, with efforts underway to benefit 119,000 citizens during the 90-day rainy season period.

Innovation and technology bureau deputy head Yechale Yigzaw reported that the 5 Million Coders program performance has risen to 173 percent compared to the previous month, with a 200 percent target set for the rainy season. He added that more than 6.5 million citizens now hold Fayda digital IDs.
