BMW unveils R 12 G/S GS Trophy Competition Bike

BMW has introduced a specially equipped R 12 G/S for the upcoming GS Trophy competition in Romania. The machine builds on the standard model with factory accessories for off-road use.

The company announced the R 12 G/S GS Trophy Competition Bike on July 15. It features the Comfort Package with Hill Start Control, Gear Shift Assist Pro, heated grips and cruise control. Additional equipment includes Headlight Pro, Riding Modes Pro, Enduro Package Pro with off-road tires, an 18-inch rear wheel and handlebar risers.

Further additions comprise engine protection bars, cylinder head covers, a Rally cockpit fairing, navigation preparation, an Akrapovič silencer and a 5-litre tank bag. The bike retains the air/oil-cooled engine and 21-inch front wheel of the base R 12 G/S.

The GS Trophy is a biennial skills event for non-professional riders. This year's edition takes place in Romania. Customers can configure similar machines using factory parts, with only minor differences such as decals.
