Former ARSAT and ORSNA president Facundo Leal left Ezeiza prison to serve house arrest in a Palermo apartment following a July 23, 2026 judicial ruling.
Federal subrogante judge Sebastián Ramos authorized the measure with prosecutor Guillermo Marijuan's approval. Forensic Medical Corps reports confirmed severe drug dependence and the Federal Penitentiary Service stated it could not provide specialized treatment.
Leal was detained on May 28 during raids in Palermo and Mendoza over alleged irregularities in ARSAT contracts. The operation seized more than 2.5 million dollars and substances including ketamine, MDMA and cocaine.
The prosecutor deemed the charge of possession with intent to sell weak. Leal will remain in his Palermo home with an electronic bracelet and may only leave for authorized medical emergencies.
