M.I.A., known for her previous album Mata in 2022, described M.I.7 as a gospel project rooted in Christian themes. The press release highlights its emphasis on spiritual elements, signaling the artist's pivot toward Christianity. Though billed as seven songs, the album spans 16 tracks, including titles like “Prayer 777,” “Jesus,” “Sacred Heart,” “Money,” “Ride the Sky,” and “30 Minutes of Silence.” Several tracks incorporate trumpet elements, such as “Trumpet 1” through “Trumpet 7.”
