Indonesia's Ministry of Manpower has recorded 8,389 workers facing layoffs from January to March 2026, led by West Java province.

Indonesia's Ministry of Manpower reported from its Satu Data platform that 8,389 workers were laid off between January and March 2026. These individuals are registered participants in the Employment Loss Guarantee (JKP) program under BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.

"From January to March 2026, there were 8,389 workers laid off classified as JKP program participants," according to the Satu Data Kemnaker report dated April 12, 2026.

The monthly breakdown shows 4,590 cases in January, 3,273 in February, and 526 in March. By region, West Java contributed 20.51 percent or 1,721 workers, followed by South Kalimantan with 1,071.

"The highest number of laid-off workers in this period was in West Java province, around 20.51 percent of the total," the report added.
