Takashi Tezuka is stepping down from his executive officer role at Nintendo but will continue working as a producer. The 65-year-old developer addressed investors during the company's latest call.
Nintendo held its latest investor call last night, where President Shuntaro Furukawa clarified the situation around 42-year veteran Takashi Tezuka.
Tezuka, who joined the company in 1984, confirmed he is leaving his executive position as his term ends. He said the work has been “truly enjoyable” and thanked the company for the chance to stay involved in development.
Furukawa noted that Tezuka has contributed since the Famicom era and will remain active moving forward. Tezuka added that he will continue as a producer.
The change follows earlier ambiguous statements in May’s financial results that had suggested possible retirement.
