Peter Van Norden, the actor known for 1980s comedies, died at age 75. His wife Wendy confirmed he passed peacefully in a Southern California hospice.
Peter Van Norden died Thursday morning while dealing with several health conditions. His wife Wendy was with him at the Southern California facility.
The New York City native launched his career in the late 1970s with a bit part in Squeeze Play. He later appeared in Waitress!, Cheers, T.J. Hooker, The Stand and Roadhouse 66.
Fans recognize him as Officer Vinnie Schtulman in Police Academy 2: Their First Assignment. He also played John Sununu in The Naked Gun 2½: The Smell of Fear.
His stage work included Broadway and regional theater. His last role was Joe in Corktown '39 at the Matrix Theater last year. He is survived by Wendy and their son Robert.
