He will be double-registered, allowing flexibility between the teams.
Valter Lindberg, a promising 19-year-old center for Skellefteå AIK, is set to join Södertälje SK on loan from the SHL club, as reported by Expressen. Lindberg has struggled for consistent playing time in Skellefteå's lineup this season, rarely exceeding 10 minutes per match, though he has contributed steadily with 11 points over 39 appearances.
This loan marks the third and final SHL outfield player Södertälje can bring in under league rules, following earlier loans of Arvid Costmar from Djurgården and Felix Öhrqvist from Linköping. Additionally, Södertälje has Wilhelm Hallquisth from HV71 on a season-long loan, which does not count toward the quota of three outfield players and one goaltender from higher divisions.
The arrangement involves double registration, meaning Lindberg remains eligible to play for Skellefteå, particularly as the club faces player absences due to upcoming Olympic commitments. Södertälje, chasing a top-six finish in HockeyAllsvenskan, views the young center as a potential boost in their playoff push.
Södertälje's sport chief Emil Georgsson has expressed interest in bolstering the goaltending position ahead of the season's end but previously voiced uncertainty about the club's financial ability to secure further reinforcements.
