Texas man charged with murdering wife over back pain dispute

A Houston-area husband has been charged with murder after allegedly shooting his wife multiple times in their home because she did not take his back pain seriously. The shooting occurred on May 2 while their three young children were present.

Jose Romero, 43, told police he opened fire on Yanira Marin de Romero, 39, during an argument in the bathroom of their Harris County residence in Cloverleaf. He called 911 himself to report the shooting and was detained without incident upon officers' arrival, according to a police press release. Marin de Romero was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds, while the children, aged 3, 8 and 13, remained unharmed.
