Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty briefed a delegation of foreign officers and experts from the National Defence College on Tuesday about the determinants of Egyptian foreign policy. He emphasized Egypt's adoption of an active foreign policy based on principles supporting peace and peaceful dispute resolution. Abdelatty highlighted Egypt's efforts in promoting regional stability, including in Gaza, Sudan, and Libya.
In a statement from the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Badr Abdelatty addressed a delegation of foreign officers and experts from the National Defence College on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. The delegation included participants from friendly Arab, African, Asian, and European countries attending a course at the Military Academy for Higher and Strategic Studies.
Abdelatty stated that Egypt adopts an active foreign policy based on firm principles and values aimed at supporting peace and settling disputes through peaceful means and mediation. He pointed to Egypt’s efforts in reconstruction and development in conflict-affected countries, especially in Africa.
The minister also reviewed Egypt’s vision for resolving regional and international conflicts, based on respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states, preserving national state institutions, and combating terrorism and extremism. He highlighted the prominent national role played by the Egyptian armed forces as a fundamental pillar for supporting security and stability in the region.
On the regional front, Abdelatty reviewed Egypt’s position on the developments in Gaza, including security arrangements and the transitional phase, as well as its efforts in humanitarian support, early recovery, and reconstruction. He stressed the need to find a political horizon that allows the Palestinian people to exercise their right to self-determination and establish their independent state on the June 4, 1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Abdelatty also stressed the great importance Egypt attaches to supporting Sudan in restoring stability and its firm support for Libya and its national institutions, emphasizing the importance of the withdrawal of all foreign forces from its territory.
