Aston Martin rushing Hungary upgrades amid parts concerns

Aston Martin is working to introduce a major upgrade package at the Hungarian Grand Prix, according to chief trackside officer Mike Krack. The team faces tight deadlines and limited spare parts as it prepares both cars for the next race.

Mike Krack described the effort as a "big undertaking" for the Silverstone-based squad. Production staff are working flat out to deliver the new aero parts in time for Hungary, the final race before the summer break.

The team has endured a challenging start to the 2026 season. Reliability issues with the Honda engine interface delayed performance upgrades, leaving Aston Martin about a second per lap behind midfield rivals in qualifying.

Krack said the team expects to have two cars ready but warned spares will be limited. "I think we will have two cars ready to go. I don't think we will have five spares of each, to be honest," he stated.

Plans are in place to run the upgrades even if some components are delayed. Krack emphasized managing expectations and focusing first on returning to competitive racing.
