Capcom shares insight on Pragmata's 'Diana Police' team

During a Father's Day livestream, Capcom revealed how a group of female developers helped shape the character Diana in Pragmata.

Capcom's space adventure Pragmata, released in April, has drawn attention for the bond between astronaut Hugh and android Diana. Producer Naoto Oyama discussed the game's development during a recent commemorative Father's Day livestream.

The team relied on a group of women Oyama called the "Diana Police" to review motion capture and voice work. Their input ensured Diana's child-like traits came across as natural. Director Cho Yonghee noted that women are often better at spotting certain kinds of cuteness in female characters.

Voice actor Nao Toyama was told to avoid overdoing the cuteness and instead speak like a real child. The stream also confirmed that Hugh's "Scribble Suit" outfit is now available as a free update in the main game.

Pragmata sold one million copies in two days and reached two million by May. Oyama has expressed interest in a sequel.
