Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc says adapting his driving approach to the new generation of Formula 1 cars remains his biggest task this season. He credited small changes made ahead of the British Grand Prix for his first win of 2026.
Leclerc explained that his typically aggressive style has sometimes clashed with the demands of the revised powertrain and chassis rules introduced for 2026. Lower downforce and the need for efficient energy deployment have required more consistent throttle application, he said.
The Monegasque driver noted he identified a specific detail in his Silverstone sprint qualifying data that prompted adjustments once the parc fermé period ended. Those modifications improved his comfort and contributed to victory at the British Grand Prix, his first since 2024.
Leclerc matched team-mate Lewis Hamilton with one win apiece after the opening third of the season but trails slightly in the standings. He stressed that further work is needed to maintain the improved feeling across upcoming races.
