Craig Kilborn to direct debut film 'The Life Golden'

Former late-night host Craig Kilborn is making his directorial debut with the independent murder mystery "The Life Golden," starring Lauren German and Tom Byrne.

The film follows Griffin Fairhurst Gates, known as The Golden Griff, a reclusive former television personality whose life in the Hollywood Hills is disrupted by a crime that draws him into a mystery.

Kilborn is producing alongside Jacob Ryan Snovel. The cast also includes Kevin Pollak, Rainey Qualley, Ryan Francis, Matthew Wolf and Thomas Dekker.

Filming wrapped in Los Angeles and Oklahoma City. The project is now in post-production with a planned release in 2027.

"Griffin Gates is a unique voice with a rare combination of winsome self-absorption coupled with innate leadership skills," Kilborn said in a statement. "To bring 'The Life Golden' to the silver screen is incredibly satisfying."
