Desder introduces streamlined D001 watch with triple-axis tourbillon

Desder, a new watch brand from Modena, Italy, has unveiled the D001, a limited-edition timepiece featuring a triple-axis tourbillon. Founded by designer Mo Coppoletta and watchmaker Luca Soprana, the watch draws inspiration from 1920s teardrop shapes and classic Italian sports cars. Only six unique pieces will be produced.

Mo Coppoletta, an Italian-born tattoo artist and designer based in London, and Luca Soprana, a specialist in high-end watch components, launched Desder from Italy's Motor Valley in Modena. Coppoletta, known for his work with The Family Business since 2003 and collaborations like Gagà Laboratorio, shaped the D001's fluid case. Soprana, with experience at Soprodal SA and ProCadrans in the Richemont group, engineered the movement at its core. The design echoes post-World War II Italian coachbuilding and icons like the Ferrari 250 GTO SWB from the 1960s, blending aerodynamic teardrop forms with dynamic lines for a sculpture-like wrist presence. No dimensions were disclosed, leaving wearability open to assessment. The D001 displays jumping hours and continuous minutes on separate cylinders, reminiscent of vintage car dashboards. Its hand-wound 3Hz caliber, fully handmade with 465 components, centers a triple-axis tourbillon flanked by a GMT function and power reserve indicator. Crafted from German silver, titanium, and phynox alloy bridges, it offers a 45-hour power reserve. Desder plans just six pieces, each subtly unique, available exclusively via its website at a price on request.
