Disney's Animal Kingdom tests kangaroo walkthrough experience

Disney's Animal Kingdom has begun testing a new walkthrough option at Jumping Junction that allows small groups of guests to enter the kangaroo and wallaby enclosure at Conservation Station.

The test experience requires visitors to keep moving through the space while a keeper provides information about the animals. Groups of about 10 people are being taken in at a time, with the process paused if the animals show signs of restlessness.

The enclosure currently houses 15 animals, including five with joeys in their pouches and one male red kangaroo. Guests are not permitted to touch the animals during the walkthrough.

The testing started after Bluey’s Wild World opened at the end of May. On June 11 the tours were available intermittently throughout the day. Park staff aim to increase the animals' comfort levels over time with the goal of eventually allowing free access to the enclosure.
