Dragon's Dogma 2 devs plan updates to regain player trust

The producers of Dragon's Dogma 2 are preparing a series of patches and the Dark Arisen DLC to address launch controversies around performance and microtransactions.

Producer Naoto Oyama and director Kenta Kinoshita spoke about efforts to rebuild confidence among players disappointed by the game's initial release. They highlighted a June update that removed several microtransactions and introduced the Eternal Ferrystone for unlimited fast travel.

An August performance patch is scheduled next to fix technical issues, cure the Dragonsplague mechanic, and add further improvements. Oyama said the team hopes these changes will leave the base game in good shape ahead of the expansion.

The Dark Arisen DLC is set to launch on 9 October. Kinoshita emphasised preserving the game's hardcore design while adding options like more strategic choices for players and adjustments to pawn companions.

"We are trying our best to win back trust from those players who felt disappointed with the launch of Dragon's Dogma 2," Oyama stated.
