Human Made signs agreement to acquire Undercover

Human Made Corporation has signed a non-binding agreement to acquire Undercover, the fashion label founded by Jun Takahashi. The move unites two longtime collaborators who helped shape Japanese streetwear.

Human Made, founded by Nigo, announced the deal on June 15. A share purchase agreement is targeted for September 2026, with full transfer planned for February 2027.

The acquisition forms part of Human Made’s strategy to build a larger creative group after its IPO on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. The company reported revenues of JPY 14.27 billion in fiscal year 2026.

Nigo and Takahashi have collaborated since the early 1990s, when they opened the boutique Nowhere in Tokyo and launched their brands BAPE and Undercover. Both have since expanded through partnerships with brands including Louis Vuitton and Nike.

Undercover remains privately held and does not disclose financial results. Human Made described the label as having strong brand equity that has yet to fully translate into profits.
