Hungary's new Foreign Minister Orban to attend CSU retreat

The CSU state group expects Hungary's Foreign Minister Anita Orban at its summer retreat at Kloster Banz on July 27 and 28.

The CSU members of parliament are meeting under chairman Alexander Hoffmann with party leader Markus Söder. The goal is a restart of German-Hungarian relations after the end of Viktor Orban's term in April 2026.

Orban had already met with Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul on June 10. The CSU had previously distanced itself from Viktor Orban.

Other guests include astronaut Alexander Gerst, Bonita Grupp of Trigema and Sven Kruck of Quantum Systems. Hoffmann emphasized the focus on economy and innovation.
