Lawmaker Rieke Diah Pitaloka has asked the Directorate General of Immigration and Bali provincial government to audit the residency permits of foreigners in the Entourage Run community in Canggu. Two Dutch nationals suspected of organizing the event have left Indonesia and received entry bans.
Rieke Diah Pitaloka of Commission XIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives stressed that roads and beaches in Canggu are public spaces belonging to all Indonesians. She asked Immigration to summon community organizers, audit members' residency permits, and build inclusive community models such as Run On Bali.
Director General of Immigration Hendarsam Marantoko said foreigners may not organize events if it does not match their residency permits. Two Dutch nationals identified as JAS and HQV left Indonesia on July 23 via Ngurah Rai Airport to Singapore and were placed on the entry ban list.
Entourage Run Bali in a July 24 clarification issued an apology. They explained an error in the automatic approval system for the WhatsApp group that incorrectly rejected some +62 numbers and stated a commitment to evaluation.
