The Mossos d'Esquadra have detained a man in connection with the murder of a 15-year-old on Thursday night in Barcelona's La Pegaso Park.
The incident took place around 22:30 on Thursday in La Pegaso Park in the Sant Andreu district. Mossos officers were alerted by neighbors who heard gunshots and found the teenager critically wounded by firearm. Emergency services were unable to revive him.
The director general of the Generalitat Police, Josep Lluís Trapero, described the crime as "a red line of maximum gravity" and said officers would work tirelessly to bring those responsible before justice. The investigation remains open and under secrecy of proceedings.
Interior counselor Núria Parlon indicated that initial findings point to a clash between gangs. Trapero and Intendent Toni Rodríguez confirmed it was a direct action against the victim and did not rule out multiple perpetrators.
