Oromia records significant results in expanding education access

Oromia Regional State President Shimelis Abdisa announced that significant progress has been made in efforts to expand education access in the region. The remarks were delivered during the 33rd anniversary of the Oromia Education Bureau held in Bishoftu town.

Shimelis Abdisa described education as the source of the generation to build a developed country. He noted that work is ongoing in collaboration with stakeholders to boost access to schooling across the region.

Teachers have made major contributions to these achievements, he said, adding that the regional government will continue strengthening its support to raise education quality. Currently 12.4 million students are enrolled in Oromia, he stated.

He highlighted that Afaan Oromoo has become a language of technology and stressed the need for continued focused efforts to record further successes.
