Police inspector charged with sexual assaults on 15-year-old

A police inspector with over 35 years of service has been charged with gross sexual assaults against a 15-year-old girl. The incidents allegedly occurred between August 2024 and the turn of 2024–2025. The man denies the charges and has recently been dismissed from the police.

A Swedish police inspector has been charged with four counts of gross sexual assault against a 15-year-old girl. According to the indictment, he touched her genitals and breasts and bit her breast between August 2024 and the turn of 2024–2025. The prosecutor primarily seeks conviction for gross sexual assault, alternatively careless sexual assault, and in the third instance sexual molestation.

The background to the indictment came to light last year when the man was confronted by the organization Dumpen. He had then engaged in sexual chats and arranged a meeting with a person posing as a 14-year-old girl, who was actually part of Dumpen's investigation. After Dumpen published his name and photo, a teenage girl in his vicinity told adults that he had touched her sexually against her will multiple times the previous year, when she was 15.

The girl felt bad about the events and stopped attending school for a period, according to the police investigation. The police officer, employed for over 35 years, denies the crime. In interrogation, he stated that the girl might have been 'fascinated' by him but became 'irritated' with him in connection with Dumpen's publication.

He also commented on the contact with Dumpen, believing it was his ex-partner trying to 'mess with' him. 'I thought, should I go there and confront her. No, then you get confronted yourself,' he stated in the interrogation.

This is not the first time the man has been in trouble. In 2012, he sent sexual messages to a 13-year-old girl using a police computer and subscription. He was not charged but received a salary deduction and kept his job. A few weeks ago, he was dismissed from the Police Authority with six months' notice, based on grounds other than the current suspected criminality.
