Rajasthan cabinet approves new industrial development policy

The Rajasthan Cabinet approved a new industrial development policy on May 22, 2026, with emphasis on the talent economy and private sector involvement. The policy aims to build world-class infrastructure and boost the state economy to $350 billion by 2028-29.

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma presided over the meeting. Industries and Commerce Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore said the policy would offer incentives to micro, small, and medium enterprises along with support for one district one product and the export sector.

Special focus areas include semiconductors, data centres, global capacity centres and defence manufacturing. The policy will also promote research and development along with technology transfer in sectors such as gems and jewellery, textiles, tourism, handicrafts, agro-processing, dairy and logistics.

The Cabinet also addressed energy production, water conservation and pensioners’ welfare. Water Resources Minister Suresh Singh Rawat outlined the Vande Ganga campaign starting with desilting of canals, while Minister of State for Energy Heera Lal Nagar noted that electricity supply reached 16,580 MW against a peak demand of 16,487 MW on May 20.
