Spoon covers 1957 classic with Hamilton Leithauser at SummerStage

Spoon performed at SummerStage in Central Park on July 8, joined by Hamilton Leithauser for a cover of the 1957 rock song Bony Moronie.

The Austin band took the stage at Rumsey Playfield for the New York City concert series marking its 40th anniversary. Frontman Britt Daniel introduced the guest as a dear friend and the group played a loose version of Spoon's Do You before launching into the Larry Williams classic.

Leithauser left after two songs and Spoon closed with a cover of David Bowie's I Can't Give Everything Away. The set also included tracks such as The Hardest Cut and Out Go the Lights.

Opening acts Bodega and Ratboys performed earlier in the evening, with Bodega bringing Daniel onstage for a guest spot on The Fitted Shirt.
