Spoon covern 1957er Klassiker mit Hamilton Leithauser bei der SummerStage

Spoon traten am 8. Juli bei der SummerStage im Central Park auf und wurden dabei von Hamilton Leithauser bei einer Coverversion des Rock-Songs Bony Moronie von 1957 unterstützt.

Die Band aus Austin betrat die Bühne am Rumsey Playfield für die Konzertreihe in New York City, die ihr 40-jähriges Bestehen feierte. Frontmann Britt Daniel stellte den Gast als guten Freund vor und die Gruppe spielte eine lockere Version von Spoons Do You, bevor sie in den Larry-Williams-Klassiker überging. Leithauser verließ nach zwei Songs die Bühne und Spoon beendeten den Auftritt mit einer Coverversion von David Bowies I Can't Give Everything Away. Das Set enthielt zudem Titel wie The Hardest Cut und Out Go the Lights. Die Vorgruppen Bodega und Ratboys traten früher am Abend auf, wobei Bodega Daniel für einen Gastauftritt bei The Fitted Shirt auf die Bühne holten.
