US President Donald Trump threatened on Tuesday to strike an Iranian nuclear-linked site and warned of decisive action against Yemen's Houthis over Red Sea shipping threats.
Speaking at the White House with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, Trump said the United States could strike Pickaxe Mountain near the damaged Natanz facility very soon. He warned that any attempt by Iran to reactivate nuclear facilities would be targeted and reiterated that Tehran would never acquire a nuclear weapon.
Trump noted that recent US strikes had degraded Iranian capabilities but stated Washington was not finished with Tehran. He mentioned ongoing back-channel contacts, saying the US would only resume talks if Iran entered meaningful negotiations.
On the Red Sea, Trump said the US would take care of the Houthis if they imposed a naval blockade on Saudi ports following their announcement on Monday. Shipping data showed two Saudi oil tankers reversing course, while Saudi Arabia, Egypt and other Gulf states condemned the threats and pledged to protect maritime security.
