Walton Goggins stars in the Strokes Going Shopping video

Actor Walton Goggins appears in the new music video for the Strokes single "Going Shopping." The clip draws inspiration from a classic Paul Simon video.

The video was filmed in May on the island of Tenerife in Spain's Canary Islands and directed by Johann Rashid. Goggins lip-syncs beside frontman Julian Casablancas as various scenes unfold around the pair, including appearances by dancing clowns.

The clip nods directly to Paul Simon's 1986 video for "You Can Call Me Al," which starred Chevy Chase. The Strokes noted that securing Goggins for the cameo was a long shot but he agreed readily.

Goggins posted on Instagram that he had "never had the audacity to put something like this on my bucket list" and described the forthcoming album as "gatdamn special." He added that he had been listening to the record since March.

"Going Shopping" is the lead single from Reality Awaits, the band's first album since 2020's The New Abnormal. The album is set for release on July 24 on RCA, with a nationwide tour planned for this summer.
