Windscribe integrates OpenClaw AI agents with its VPN software

Windscribe has added native support for OpenClaw agentic AI in its VPN software, allowing autonomous AI agents to control VPN settings. The integration aims to separate AI-generated traffic from users' personal web activity, protecting home networks from potential issues. Company representatives described it as addressing a key privacy gap for AI users.

Windscribe, a VPN provider, announced native integration with OpenClaw, an agentic AI platform that runs on local hardware. This feature enables AI agents, referred to by the company as 'lobsters,' to modify VPN settings autonomously. The goal is to isolate AI traffic from users' own, preventing scenarios where overzealous agents trigger security challenges or blocklists that could affect entire home networks. A Windscribe representative told CNET that without VPN access, 'your digital reputation' and network are at risk, adding, 'You gave your agent a browser and a job, but you didn't give it a VPN. Let's fix that.'
