Andre Agassi has criticized Jannik Sinner's preparation following the world number one's second-round loss at the French Open. The eight-time Grand Slam champion said there was no excuse for the Italian's struggles in the Paris heat.
Jannik Sinner lost to Juan Manuel Cerundolo in five sets after taking the first two. The match ended 3-6, 2-6, 7-5, 6-1, 6-1. Agassi told TNT Sports that Sinner had shown he could play for more than five hours in last year's final but failed to handle conditions this time. He pointed to a difference between fitness and preparation for heat and hydration. Sinner had led 5-1 in the third set before calling a medical timeout and showing signs of distress. He won no more games after that point. The loss ended Sinner's 29-match winning streak. He is now expected to focus on the grass-court season ahead of Wimbledon, which starts June 29.
