Agencies including the Secretariat of the Navy, the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection, the National Intelligence Center, the Attorney General's Office, the Secretariat of National Defense, and the National Guard coordinated the effort. At least two properties were secured, with neighbors reporting gunfire detonations in El Ciprés, and security perimeters established in J. Guadalupe Rodríguez along the Pino Suárez extension. Initially, two people were reported detained.
Searches extended to properties in Durango and Coahuila, where five long weapons, one short firearm, and tactical gear were seized. Edgar 'N', alias 'El Limones', is a presumed member of Los Cabrera, an armed wing of the Sinaloa Cartel that reemerged last year amid conflict between factions like Los Mayitos and Los Chapitos. He is accused of managing the group's finances, involved in extortion, fraud, and money laundering targeting sectors such as commerce and ranching in Durango and Coahuila.
Authorities emphasized that this arrest aims to weaken the economic structures of organized crime and reduce violence in northern Mexico. In Durango, the Sinaloa Cartel maintains a strong presence, dominating illicit activities according to security reports and the DEA, including fentanyl trafficking.
