Williams driver Carlos Sainz has said he will stop publicly criticizing the 2026 Formula 1 regulations while continuing to argue they remain inadequate. Recent tweaks introduced ahead of the Miami Grand Prix addressed some concerns but left key issues unresolved for drivers.
Sainz spoke after the race and acknowledged steps taken by the FIA. He noted that changes to energy deployment and wet-weather procedures represented progress, particularly in improving the racing. However, he stressed that qualifying performance is still compromised by restrictions on energy use and flat-out driving through corners.
