Vaca Muerta News director Darío Irigaray said the field's development has entered a concrete phase with export and infrastructure projects underway.
In an interview with Canal E, Irigaray said Vaca Muerta's growth has become real, driven by strategic works and large-scale investments. He highlighted the commercial mission in Houston, where he joined governors, business leaders and union representatives to convey predictability to international investors.
The Vaca Muerta Oil Sur pipeline will boost oil exports from late 2026, while liquefied natural gas works at Punta Colorada are 60 percent complete and on schedule. Irigaray noted that Argentina's energy balance is already positive, with a surplus of about 7 billion dollars last year from crude sales.
He also cited projects under the Régimen de Incentivo para Grandes Inversiones submitted by Chevron and Pluspetrol for 10 billion and 12 billion dollars respectively. He warned of high living costs in northern Neuquén and advised job seekers to arrive with employment secured.
