A Datafolha survey released on July 3 indicates that 44% of Brazilians are classified as right or center-right, against 39% as left or center-left.
The survey was conducted in person on June 17 and 18 with 2,004 voters aged 16 and over in 139 municipalities. The margin of error is two percentage points.
The result reverses the 2022 picture, when the left totaled 49% and the right 34%. This is the first time since 2014 that the right appears ahead in the historical series.
Among men, 50% are classified as right or center-right, against 33% on the left. Among women, the left is ahead, with 44% against 37% on the right.
Evangelicals appear more to the right, with 52% against 30% on the left. Among Catholics there is a technical tie, 43% to the right and 39% to the left.
