Following the recent carousel foundation pour, Walt Disney World has marked a trailer from the former Restaurantosaurus for demolition on March 19, 2026, as crews advance the DinoLand U.S.A. transformation into Pueblo Esperanza at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
On March 19, 2026, guests spotted a trailer—once attached to the “Hip Joint” dining room of the shuttered Restaurantosaurus Quick-Service restaurant—marked for demolition behind construction walls at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Exterior paneling has also been stripped from the building, per a WDWNT report.
This builds on ongoing demolition across DinoLand U.S.A., which fully closed in February 2026 to make way for the Tropical Americas-themed Pueblo Esperanza land (as covered in prior articles in this series). Restaurantosaurus is being rethemed into a hacienda-style Quick-Service spot, complementing the upcoming Casita attraction (Encanto-inspired), Disney animal carousel (foundation poured March 12), and Indiana Jones retheme of DINOSAUR.
The project, announced by Walt Disney Imagineering at D23 Expo 2024, remains on track for a 2027 opening, though no firm date is set.
